In Indian mythology, a full moon day is considered an auspicious day. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi falls in the month of Shravan (August) according to the Hindu lunar calendar. To celebrate Raksha Bandhan all over the world, all Hindus mainly visit India, Nepal and some areas of Pakistan. Raksha Bandhan is known by different names in different regions of India. Rituals may vary somewhat from one region to another, but they usually have the same aura. For farmers, it is celebrated as "Kajari Purnima". On this day, he started sowing wheat and praying to God for a good harvest and this day is celebrated as "Narayali Purnima" in the coastal areas of India. The day is dedicated to Lord Indra (God of rain) and Lord Varuna (God of the sea).

Raksha Bandhan has deep historical significance. There are many legends associated with the past of Hinduism. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that on each day of Shravan Purnima, Yamuna tied a sacred thread on the wrist of the deity Yama (God of Death). Yama was so impressed by the ease of this custom and went away that he announced that whoever tied a rakhi to his sister would become immortal. Has been traditional by people since that day. Another legend is related to the Mahabharata. In the Mahabharata, there is an incident where Lord Krishna was injured during a battle with King Shishupala, and was left with a bleeding finger. At that time, Draupati had torn a piece of cloth and tied it around her wrist to stop the bleeding. Krishna was touched by his gesture and promised to respond to his love and devotion in future whenever he needed it. The legend of the powerful king Bali and the deity Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth) is also popular. But the story of Queen Karnavati and Emperor Humayun is the most important evidence of history related to this festival. Rani Karnavati, a widow of King Chittor, sent a rakhi to Emperor Humayun with a request to save her dignity. Emperor Humayun touched the gesture and started without wasting time to save his honor with his soldiers, but before reaching there, the queen realized Johar and sacrificed her life.

Thus, Raksha Bandhan is an ancient Hindu festival, meaning "a knot of protection", a renewal of one of man's most beautiful emotions. On this auspicious day, according to tradition, the sister worships God and ties a sacred thread on her brother's right wrist and prays for her prosperous future. He demonstrates his love and affection for his brother, and in return, the brother undertakes to protect him, protect him and guide him throughout his life and wish him well. They also exchange gifts and enjoy the day. Today, as people's lifestyles have changed, sisters and brothers who live separately send their wishes via card and email.

The festival of Rakhi brings the whole family together and strengthens the bonds of love and affection between the brothers. A lifelong promise made by the brothers on this day is the essence of the relationship between the brothers and sister. Therefore, it symbolizes the purity of the relationship between them.
